Meet my BABIES. :D

 

 October 16, 2010  the date when I bought these 4 cute little babies.

          named: Agnes, Kimperche, Fluffy and Bogsy. two boys and two girls. They are all Siberian Hamster which I bought as a gift for my 18th birthday.I've been wanting to buy these hamsters since high school but due to some reasons and hindrances that I've encountered, Its just now that I had the chance to buy. 

         I never thought that I'll be fond in these cute little creatures until I bought them. They are certainly Stress relievers and a good past time.

          But first Let me introduce them one by one, i'll start with Agnes, I got her name from a character in "Despicable me" movie because she is the smallest and a cutie. she loves to sleep and she is the tamest among them. [Maybe because she is always asleep.] haha. But when she woke up she is very energetic and likes to climb on the bars of their cage.

Kimperche

       Kimperche is my favorite because she is the most energetic and most explorative among them she likes to play with the tubes in and out. that's why I put a part of my name in hers.  She likes to fight with her mates and her major enemy is Fluffy, they always fight and they look funny. haha. 

                    Fluffy is the darkest among them, colored gray with some touch of white. He is always sleepy and loves to fight with Kimperche. He is cute and shape like a ball.

              Bogsy is the largest among them. I got his name from the cute with large eyes guinea pig in "Bed Time Stories". He also likes to fight with Kimperche, Highly energetic and looks quite alike with kimperche except that he doesn't has a black mark on his forehead. He loves to fight and eat a LOT that's why he's so fat.

                  They are all Djungarian hamster (Phodopus sungorus), also known as the Winter white Russian dwarf hamster, Dzungarian dwarf hamster,Russian dwarf hamsters, Winter white hamsters, and Sapphire winter white Russian dwarf hamster, Siberian hamster. But they are popularly called here in the Philippines as Siberian Hamster.

         There are two types of hamster that are sold in the market. the Siberian and Teddy bear Hamster. The latter are easily tamed than the first mentioned, and Siberian Hamster are more aggressive and somewhat hard to be tamed and smaller. 

        The Hamsters are said to be originated in Middle east and Southern Europe. Hamsters come from a german word "Hamstern" which means to hoard or to store, referring to the hamsters capacity to store foods in their check pouches.

           They can be feed by seeds, fruits, vegetables especially the green ones, berries and others. They shouldn't be feed by food which contains monosaccharides or foods high in sugar because they are likely to develop diabetes mellitus. Furthermore, Their life capacity is 3yrs.

           Hamsters are playful and it is a must that they have their Exercise wheel. They also like, chewy toys to maintain their teeth, plastic tubes, hamster ball and etc.

          They have sensitive hearing and can possibly got stress in exposure to  too much noise which can develop to a sick called wet tail. their eyesight is poor and have a keen sense of smell and hearing.

              the female hamster gave birth from at least 4-12 babies. These babies should be taken away from the mother for atleast 2 weeks because she can likely eat her own babies. Furthermore, they are nocturnals they sleep in the daylight and woke up and plays a lot at night.

             Those that are mentioned are some knowledges that I've gathered through surfing the net. I hope these information are enough in order for me to take a good care of those cutie little hamsters and to make them healthy and fit.
